Denise

Meet Denise

Intended Parent – Toronto, ON

Denise lives in Toronto, Ontario, where she has dedicated more than 20 years to a career in Social Work. As a Child Protection Supervisor and part-time college instructor, Denise has spent her life supporting children, youth, and families. She is working with Anova Fertility and has five PGS-tested embryos ready as she begins the journey to becoming a mother through surrogacy.

For Denise, becoming a parent has always been part of the life she imagined. After beginning her fertility journey several years ago, unexpected delays, the COVID-19 pandemic, and age-related fertility challenges ultimately led her to explore surrogacy. While she had hoped to carry a child herself, she now sees surrogacy as an incredible opportunity made possible through the compassion and generosity of another woman. Watching friends build their families through adoption, donor conception, and surrogacy has only strengthened her belief that family is built through love, commitment, and the people who choose to support one another.

Although Denise has experienced many wonderful opportunities throughout her life, she believes becoming a mother would be her greatest accomplishment. She looks forward to creating the same cherished childhood memories she experienced growing up—from family vacations and weekend adventures to simple traditions, bedtime stories, and celebrating milestones together. Through her work with diverse families over the years, she has learned that family isn't defined solely by biology but by love, connection, and the people who stand beside one another through life's journey.

Denise is surrounded by an incredible support system. Her mother, who dreams of becoming a grandmother, has been one of her biggest champions throughout her fertility journey. She is also fortunate to have a large extended family throughout the Greater Toronto Area, lifelong friendships spanning nearly four decades, and supportive colleagues who have encouraged her every step of the way. Everyone close to Denise knows how deeply she longs to become a mother and is excited to welcome a child into their lives.

She hopes to build a genuine and lasting relationship with her surrogate based on trust, honesty, empathy, and open communication. Denise would love to be involved throughout the pregnancy by attending appointments whenever possible while always respecting her surrogate's comfort level and boundaries. After the birth, she hopes to continue the relationship in whatever way feels right for everyone involved, believing that her future child should know the incredible woman who helped bring them into the world.

Outside of work, Denise enjoys travelling and has explored 17 countries across Europe, Asia, and Australia. She loves spending time with her mother, attending concerts, sporting events, musicals, and movies with friends, and making memories with the children in her life as the proud "auntie." She also enjoys quiet evenings at home with a good podcast, television show, or word puzzle. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance and prioritizing self-care have helped her build resilience and a deep appreciation for life's simple joys.

Those who know Denise describe her as compassionate, approachable, and someone who makes others feel genuinely seen and supported. Her career has taught her the importance of empathy, communication, and creating safe spaces for others, qualities she hopes to bring into motherhood. She believes every child deserves to grow up surrounded by unconditional love, encouragement, and a strong community of caring adults.

Living in Toronto allows Denise to enjoy the best of both worlds—a quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood close to parks, schools, libraries, and community centres, while also embracing the diversity, culture, and opportunities the city has to offer. She looks forward to sharing everything from family traditions and holiday celebrations to everyday moments, watching her child discover the world around them and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

More than anything, Denise is ready to become a mother. She is incredibly grateful for the woman who will help make that dream possible and looks forward to welcoming her child into a life filled with love, laughter, security, and endless support.
