Jennifer & Brad

Meet Jennifer & Brad

Intended Parents – Okotoks, AB

Jennifer and Brad live in the welcoming community of Okotoks, Alberta, where Jennifer works as an Office Manager for a construction company and Brad is a Banking Estate Specialist. They are working with the Regional Fertility Program and have three embryos ready as they begin the next chapter of their family-building journey.

For more than 20 years of marriage, Jennifer and Brad have dreamed of becoming parents. While their path has been filled with unimaginable heartbreak, it has also been defined by unwavering love, resilience, and hope. They experienced the joy of seeing a positive pregnancy test on Christmas Eve in 2019, only to later lose their first son, Enzo. Despite their grief, they found the strength to continue, only to experience the heartbreaking losses of their second son, Milo, who was born sleeping at 28 weeks, and later their third son, Arlo. After years of fertility treatments and loss, their medical team gently encouraged them to explore surrogacy. Although it was not the path they had originally imagined, it has renewed their hope and given them the opportunity to continue pursuing the family they have dreamed of for so long.

Their greatest wish is simple—to welcome a child into a home overflowing with love, security, laughter, and opportunity. Throughout every challenge, Brad has remained Jennifer's greatest source of strength, offering endless patience, compassion, and support. Together, they have built a strong and stable life and are ready to devote themselves wholeheartedly to raising a child. They know firsthand how precious every moment of parenthood will be and look forward to celebrating both the everyday milestones and life's biggest adventures.

Jennifer and Brad are fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible support system. Their close-knit families and lifelong friends have stood beside them through every high and low of their fertility journey and continue to cheer them on as they pursue surrogacy. They openly share their story, helping others better understand the incredible gift surrogates provide, and are continually humbled by the kindness and encouragement they've received along the way.

For Jennifer and Brad, surrogacy is about so much more than bringing home a baby. They hope to build a genuine, lifelong friendship with their surrogate—one founded on trust, honesty, communication, and mutual respect. They would love to remain connected long after their child is born, allowing their future son or daughter to grow up knowing the remarkable woman who helped bring them into the world. They understand that every surrogate has different hopes for the relationship and are committed to respecting whatever feels most comfortable while ensuring she always feels appreciated, supported, and valued.

If distance allows, Jennifer and Brad would love to attend prenatal appointments and be present for as much of the pregnancy as possible. They understand that pregnancy comes with both excitement and uncertainty, especially after experiencing pregnancy loss, so regular communication and updates are something they deeply appreciate. More than anything, they hope both their surrogate and baby remain healthy throughout the journey.

When they're not working, Jennifer and Brad love making memories together. Whether they're taking road trips through the mountains, exploring the Oregon Coast, travelling somewhere tropical, attending concerts or hockey games, or simply spending time with family and friends, they find joy in life's shared experiences. Hockey season brings a little friendly rivalry to their home, with Brad cheering passionately for the Edmonton Oilers while Jennifer proudly supports the Vancouver Canucks.

Their kitchen is truly the heart of their home. Jennifer loves cooking homemade meals while Brad happily joins as her sous-chef, and together they enjoy making fresh pasta, baking, and hosting gatherings filled with laughter and great conversation. They also love tackling home renovation projects, caring for their home, and spending cozy evenings on the couch with their beloved dogs, Teddy and Piper, who became cherished members of their family during some of life's most difficult moments.

Jennifer and Brad credit much of their strength to the lessons they've learned through grief. Therapy has taught them to focus on what they can control, what they can influence, and what they must let go. Through every challenge, they have leaned on open communication, unwavering respect, and the deep friendship that has been the foundation of their relationship since they first met in 2001. Married for over two decades, they continue to face every obstacle as a team.

Living in Okotoks offers them everything they hoped for in a place to raise a family. Surrounded by nature, close to the mountains, lakes, and parks, yet only a short drive from Calgary, they love the strong sense of community and the countless opportunities for outdoor adventures and family life.

Jennifer and Brad cannot wait to experience the simple, beautiful moments of parenthood that so many people take for granted—the first cuddle, bedtime stories, family vacations, scraped knees, birthday celebrations, and watching their child grow into the person they're meant to become. Above all else, they look forward to one day telling their child the incredible story of how they came into the world, surrounded by extraordinary love, incredible resilience, and the selfless generosity of a surrogate who helped make their greatest dream come true.
