Lionel & Andy

Meet Lionel & Andy

Intended Parents – Paris, France

Lionel and Andy live in the beautiful city of Paris, France, where they have built a life centered around love, family, and the values that matter most to them. Lionel is a Financial Advisor, and Andy is a Legal Advisor. They are working with Victory Reproductive Care and have four PGT-tested embryos ready. They hope to transfer one embryo at a time, following medical guidance and prioritizing what is safest for both their future surrogate and baby.

Together since 2001 and now married, Lionel and Andy have spent more than two decades building a strong and loving partnership. From the beginning of their relationship, they shared a desire to one day become parents, and they now feel they are at the right stage in their lives to welcome a child into their family. They have created a stable and supportive home and are excited to share their lives with a child who is deeply wanted and loved.

As a same-sex male couple, surrogacy is the path that allows Lionel and Andy to build the family they have dreamed of for many years. They approached this decision thoughtfully and with immense respect for the woman who may help make their dream of parenthood possible. To them, surrogacy is not simply a medical process, but a deeply meaningful journey built on trust, kindness, openness, and a shared commitment to bringing a child into the world surrounded by love.

Choosing Canada for their surrogacy journey was important to Lionel and Andy because they value the ethical and respectful framework surrounding surrogacy. They appreciate the focus on informed consent, transparency, and the importance of creating a positive relationship between intended parents and surrogate. They hope to experience this journey in a way that honors everyone involved and creates a meaningful connection along the way.

Family is at the heart of Lionel and Andy’s lives. Their future child will be welcomed into a loving and supportive extended family, with two aunts and four cousins on Lionel’s side — three girls and one boy — as well as two uncles on Andy’s side. Their family and close friends are aware of their surrogacy journey and have been incredibly supportive, excited to celebrate this next chapter with them.

For Lionel and Andy, the relationship they build with their surrogate is an important part of their journey. They hope to develop a relationship based on trust, honesty, communication, and mutual respect. They want their surrogate to feel supported, appreciated, and heard throughout the pregnancy while always respecting her comfort, boundaries, and wishes. Although they live internationally, they are committed to being involved throughout the journey and being present for important moments whenever possible.

Outside of their careers, Lionel and Andy enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, discovering new places, and enjoying everything Paris has to offer. They also enjoy staying active through running and fitness. Lionel has played piano since childhood and continues to take lessons on weekends, a passion he hopes to share with his future child. At home, they enjoy the companionship of their two cats, Gioia and Zac, who bring warmth and happiness to their daily lives.

Their personalities complement each other beautifully. They describe themselves as caring, dependable, and thoughtful, with a strong belief that communication and respect are the foundation of any healthy relationship. Together, they approach challenges calmly and support one another through every stage of life.

More than anything, Lionel and Andy are excited to experience the everyday joys of parenthood — creating traditions, sharing new experiences, and watching their child discover the world around them. They want their child to grow up knowing how deeply they were hoped for, loved, and wanted from the very beginning.

They are incredibly grateful to the woman who will help make their dream of becoming parents a reality and look forward to welcoming their child into a home filled with love, security, and endless support.
