Matthew & Antonio

Meet Matthew & Antonio

Intended Parents – Granada, Spain

Matthew and Antonio live in the beautiful city of Granada, Spain, where they both work as physicians. Matthew is a physician, and Antonio is also a physician, dedicated to caring for children. Together for more than 18 years and happily married, they are now ready to begin the next chapter of their lives—becoming parents. Working with CReATe Fertility Centre, they have seven PGS-tested embryos ready and are excited to grow their family through surrogacy.

As a same-sex couple, surrogacy is the path that will allow them to build the family they have always dreamed of. Inspired by friends who have had positive surrogacy experiences in Canada, they were drawn to Canada's compassionate, ethical approach and its focus on the health, autonomy, and well-being of everyone involved. They are deeply grateful for the incredible gift a surrogate makes possible and look forward to experiencing every step of the journey from the very beginning.

Family has always been at the heart of Matthew and Antonio's lives. Both were raised in close-knit families where time spent with parents, siblings, grandparents, and cousins created cherished memories that continue today. Surrounded by supportive family, lifelong friends, and colleagues who are excited to welcome a child into their lives, they know their future son or daughter will grow up surrounded by love, encouragement, and a strong sense of belonging.

Outside of their careers, Matthew and Antonio enjoy traveling to visit family and friends around the world, hiking, exploring nature, and discovering charming towns throughout Spain. Antonio loves music, playing the piano, singing, and performing with a local rock band, while Matthew enjoys volunteering with international organizations and supporting marginalized communities. Together they value kindness, strong relationships, and making meaningful memories with the people they love.

They hope to build a genuine relationship with their surrogate based on trust, kindness, empathy, and open communication. Although they live overseas, they hope to stay closely connected throughout the pregnancy with regular updates and conversations, while always respecting their surrogate's comfort level and wishes. They also look forward to maintaining a meaningful relationship after birth so their child grows up understanding the incredible role their surrogate played in their story.

Matthew and Antonio cannot wait to share life's greatest adventures with their future child—from traveling, music, and family gatherings to everyday moments filled with laughter, learning, and love. More than anything, they look forward to helping their child discover the beauty of the world while growing up in a home filled with compassion, support, and endless encouragement.
