Dacien & Shaun

Meet Dacien & Shaun

Intended Parents – Waterloo, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Dacien and Shaun live in Waterloo, a vibrant inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, where they’ve built a life centered on love, intention, and community. Shaun works as a Quick Service Restaurant Area Manager, while Dacien is a Head of Technical Services and Production Operations Specialist. Together, they balance busy professional lives with a deep commitment to family, connection, and the future they are building side by side.

As a same-sex couple, Dacien and Shaun have always known that surrogacy would play a meaningful role in bringing their family to life. Their journey began with finding one another and committing to a shared forever. Now, they are preparing to welcome the next chapter—parenthood—with open hearts and immense gratitude.

They are overjoyed to be expecting their first child in June 2025, a milestone made even more special by the presence of a close family friend from Sydney who is living with them throughout the pregnancy. Her generosity has allowed Dacien and Shaun to experience this journey in person, creating moments they will cherish forever.

From the very beginning, Dacien and Shaun envisioned a family with two children. As they look ahead, they are excited that their sibling journey will take place in Canada, where the surrogacy process and support systems align closely with their values. They hope to connect with someone who shares their passion for building a loving, respectful, and supportive environment—someone who will help them bring their vision of family to life with care and mutual trust.

Family plays a central role in their lives. Living just 15 minutes from Dacien’s family, including his grandmother and aunt who helped raise him, allows for regular weekly catch-ups filled with love, laughter, and shared history. Shaun’s family, based in Queensland, remains just as close despite the distance. Frequent video calls and regular visits for holidays and special occasions ensure those bonds remain strong. As the youngest of three siblings, Shaun is surrounded by the joyful energy of nieces and nephews, with five children between his brother and sister.

Outside of work, Dacien and Shaun cherish their daily routines and quiet moments together. Shaun is an early riser who enjoys starting his day with a gym session or a run, followed by a morning walk with their beloved dog, Boost, a 14-year-old mastiff cross staffy who is very much part of the family. Weekends often include park runs with friends, leisurely walks through nearby green spaces, or relaxing mornings at home.

They also enjoy unwinding with their favorite television shows, including Survivor, The Challenge, Below Deck, and RuPaul’s Drag Race—while Shaun proudly claims Judge Judy as his ultimate guilty pleasure. Travel has long been a shared joy, with many memorable cruises taken alongside family, and they look forward to creating even more meaningful experiences together in the years to come.

Sydney provides the perfect backdrop for their growing family. With two large parks just steps from home, easy access to the city’s cultural life, and scenic weekend drives to places like the Blue Mountains, Dacien and Shaun feel incredibly fortunate to live in a place that supports both adventure and connection.

Surrounded by unwavering support from family and friends, Dacien and Shaun are stepping into parenthood with gratitude, excitement, and love—ready to build the family they’ve always dreamed of.
