Meet Sandra & Bruk
Intended Parents – Toronto, Ontario
Sandra and Bruk met on Hinge during the pandemic. An unusually warm November in Toronto gave them just enough time for a few outdoor dates before lockdown returned. Soon, they were spending evenings at each other’s apartments, and getting to know one another made that first pandemic winter a little brighter. Sandra was drawn to Bruk’s calm nature and sense of humour, while Bruk loved Sandra’s confidence and how easily their conversations flowed. Six years later, they’re married and looking forward to becoming parents.
Sandra works as an associate director in capital markets, and Bruk is an AI engagement manager. Away from work, they love trying new restaurants, hosting family and friends, watching sports and settling in with a good TV series. Ask them for a recommendation and they’ll tell you they have a whole list ready. They love calling Toronto home, with its waterfront, neighbourhood parks and the chance to experience so many different cultures close to home.
After learning that carrying a pregnancy would be medically difficult and risky for Sandra, they spoke with their doctors and decided to grow their family through surrogacy. They’re working with CReATe Fertility Centre and have three PGT-A tested euploid embryos, as well as one mosaic embryo. They plan to transfer one embryo at a time. Their families and close friends are already cheering them on, and there are grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins eager to welcome a little one.
Sandra and Bruk hope to build a warm, open relationship with their surrogate, with room to laugh together and speak honestly about what each person needs. They’d love to share milestones like an ultrasound or hearing the heartbeat, and they’d be honoured to attend the birth if she feels comfortable having them there. Afterward, they’d welcome the chance to stay in touch through photos, updates or occasional visits if that feels right for everyone.
What excites them most about parenthood are the ordinary moments: family dinners, bedtime stories and kicking a ball around at the park. They can’t wait to share their family traditions, explore new places together and see what sparks their child’s curiosity. Above all, they’re looking forward to watching their little person become themselves.
