Meet Jesse & Stephanie
Intended Parents – Pointe au Baril, Ontario
Jesse and Stephanie’s story began over Thanksgiving at her family’s cottage in Pointe au Baril, Ontario. Jesse had grown up in the area and was doing some work for Stephanie’s stepfather when the two met. After that first meeting, they rarely went more than a week without seeing each other. They married in 2017 and now call Pointe au Baril home. They even work at the same marina, where Jesse is a construction manager and Stephanie is a sales administrator.
Life in Pointe au Baril suits them well. Stephanie grew up in a skiing family and still loves hitting the slopes, trying new recipes and spending time at the beach. Jesse is happiest outdoors, whether he’s fishing, boating, snowmobiling or camping in the middle of winter. They both love spending time with Kia, their Portuguese water dog. And yes, Jesse is a Leafs fan, but don’t let that steer you away from this fun duo. You don’t have to cheer for the same team to be on their team.
Becoming parents has long been a dream for Jesse and Stephanie. After a pregnancy loss and several unsuccessful IVF transfers, they decided to pursue surrogacy. During their first surrogacy journey, they got to know their surrogate and her family over a camping trip and built a close friendship. Although that journey didn’t end as they had hoped, she remains a dear friend and a source of support. Jesse and Stephanie are working with CReATe Fertility Centre and have three PGS-tested embryos ready for their next journey.
They hope to get to know their surrogate and build a relationship based on trust, open communication and mutual respect. They’d be happy to attend appointments, help with rides or get together over lunch if she’d enjoy that. They would love to be there for the birth if she’s comfortable, and they’re open to staying in touch afterward in whatever way feels right for her.
Already a proud aunt and uncle, Jesse and Stephanie look forward to sharing the things they loved growing up. Jesse can’t wait to take their child fishing and camping, while Stephanie looks forward to teaching them to swim and ride a bike. Jesse jokes that she’ll have their little one on skis before they can walk. With family close by and plenty of room for adventures, they’re looking forward to making those memories together.
