Meet Tal & Tal
Intended Parents – Tel-Aviv, Israel 🇮🇱
Meet Tal & Tal
Tal is a Software Engineer and Tal is a Chemical Engineer. We live in Tel Aviv, Israel, and have dreamed of becoming parents since the very beginning of our relationship — in fact, we spoke about having children on our first date.
As a gay couple, natural pregnancy is not an option for us. We explored adoption; however, it is unfortunately not currently accessible to gay couples in Israel. Surrogacy for same-sex couples was only legalized there in 2022, after we had already begun our journey in Canada in January 2021. Given that the process in Israel is still relatively new, we feel more comfortable continuing our journey in Canada.
At the time we began, Canada and the United States were the only legally available options for us. We chose Canada because of its altruistic surrogacy model and its clear, regulated legal and healthcare systems. It was very important to us to pursue this journey in a country where surrogates are respected, protected, and supported.
Children have always been central to our lives. We are very involved in raising our nephews and cherish the time we spend with them. We are truly looking forward to experiencing parenthood ourselves.
Both of our families are fully informed and deeply involved in the process, and they are eagerly awaiting their first grandchild. We are fortunate to have several doctors in our extended family, which provides us with additional guidance and reassurance. Our close friends are also very supportive, including other gay couples who are currently on or have completed their own surrogacy journeys. Our employers are informed and supportive as well, and they understand that we will need extended time away around the birth.
We are grateful for the opportunity to grow our family and excited for the journey ahead.
