Meet Tanmeet & Nick

Tanmeet and Nick live in Edmonton, Alberta, where they’ve built a life together grounded in love, resilience, and shared dreams of family. Tanmeet works as a Finance Manager, while Nick is a Citizen Services Representative for the City of Edmonton. Their story began in 2011, when they met during their first year of college and found themselves working together on projects and assignments. What started as a friendship slowly grew stronger over time.

In 2013, fate stepped in once again when they ended up in another class together. By the end of the semester, Nick asked Tanmeet out on a date—and from that moment on, their future together began to take shape.

Their journey to parenthood has not been without challenges. In 2017, prior to their wedding, Tanmeet underwent a partial hysterectomy due to a rapidly growing fibroid. While doctors were able to preserve her ovaries, making it possible to create embryos, the experience reshaped the path Tanmeet and Nick would take to grow their family. At that time, their options became surrogacy or adoption—both paths they embraced with hope and openness.

For Tanmeet and Nick, the desire to become parents has always been there—even before they met each other. Once they began dating, they often joked that their future children would be little “s’mores,” a beautiful mix of them both. They dreamed about family traditions they would create, holidays they would celebrate, and vacations they would take together. Their vision of parenthood has always been filled with laughter, learning, and unconditional love.

“We have so much love to give,” they share. “We want to pass that on to our children and take everything we’ve learned from our own families to make their lives even better.”

Their friends and family often remark that Tanmeet and Nick were meant to be parents. Both naturally gravitate toward children, forming easy, joyful connections wherever they go. Whether through surrogacy, adoption, or both, they hope to grow a family rooted in warmth, inclusion, and shared experiences.

“Both of us have always wanted to have children—even before we knew each other,” they say. “We’ve always imagined the family traditions and vacations we’d share one day. We’re excited to build a home filled with love and create a future where our children feel supported, celebrated, and deeply cherished.”

As they take this next step toward parenthood, Tanmeet and Nick do so with open hearts, gratitude, and an unwavering belief in the family they are meant to build together.
